Designer Spotlight: Risto Bimbiloski

Risto was born in Macedonia, where knitting was a huge part of his culture. He was fascinated and inspired by western life and picked up and moved to Paris in 1993 to enroll in the prestigious Dupree Fashion College. In 2006, Louis Vuitton signed Risto as a design knitwear consultant for menswear. In the summer of 2007, he launched his own line in Macedonia and the rest has grown from there. Still a bit under the radar and quite obscure... I can't keep my eyes away from his strange construction and childlike prints. While he is incredibly active in the industry, his pieces do not come cheap... Most start at $700, but these below are all on sale at Assembly in New York. He is an amazing talent and I am totally in love with these items. Take a look.

X. Jewls

Silk Galaxy Shorts. Seriously amazing.

Night sky silk parka.

Hand knit pocket pullover.

I would never take this off.

Love the darting.

Gorgeous Cocoon Vest.

As I said, his knitwear is unreal.

Beautiful.
